American Legion Post 58 has announced its Veteran of the Month for October 2022, Staff Sergeant Ritz-Tyler Sadang, an explosive ordnance disposal technician.

Sadang served in the U.S. Army/National Guard from Aug. 21, 2003, to April 2, 2021. He served in Iraq, Kuwait and Jordan. He was responsible for the coordination and safety of personnel and for disposal of explosive ordnance including biological, chemical, nuclear and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Staff Sgt. Sadang was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with four bronze Oak leaf clusters; Joint Services Achievement Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Iraqi Campaign Medal with four Campaign Stars; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Combat Action Badge; Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge; Overseas Ribbon with Numeral five; Army Valor Unit Citation; Army Meritorious Unit Citation.
