Very lucky

I have never written a letter to the editor as rarely does something really bother me. I have, however, had a hard time dealing with the situation with Mrs. Aister.

We moved here 18 years ago. We have four boys and were so terrified that moving our kids across the country and away from their friends and family was the right move.

I remember sitting with my son, Patrick, in the office waiting for his third grade teacher. I was so nervous. Then Mrs. Aister came through the door and all was right with the world. She made me feel so good and Patrick was smiling from ear to ear. Patrick wrote a paper on the things he loved about Fountain Hills and Mrs. Aister was at the top of the list. He loved that year and talked about school non-stop.

He loved that year and talked about school non-stop.

Reading the article about the events that unfolded, I tried to keep an open mind and look at things from both sides. It just seemed to me to be a playground squabble. Perhaps, words could have been chosen better.

However, being the mother of four, I am sure there are many times I myself could have chosen better wording. I think most every parent would say the same.

I am not sure if anything can be done at this point, but I would like to say how very lucky I have felt to have someone like Mrs. Aister in our district. I feel sad for the town, the district, but most of all the family that moves here and doesn’t have the opportunity to have someone as lovely as Mrs. Aister to help them through it.
