Valley memorabilia shops sell out as collectors hunt for Paul Skenes’ rookie card

Limited edition cards garner strong interest from card collectors

There’s a golden ticket hidden inside a case of Topps baseball cards somewhere on this planet and the Pittsburgh Pirates are hoping to turn one lucky person’s baseball dreams into a world of pure imagination.

The newly-minted National League Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes has become the face of this thrilling quest as fans and collectors scramble to unearth the card that promises a once-in-a-lifetime prize and the chance to connect with the sport in a way few ever will.

Topps released Skenes’ 1/1 Rookie Debut Patch Autograph card into the universe on Wednesday, Nov. 13, and since then, card and memorabilia shops around the Valley have been scrambling to keep up with demand.
