The raptor media insists on painting Trump as some sort of idiot and bumbling fool, purposely equating style and agility with intelligence and ability. They now have hit a new low, calling the president mentally ill and semi-illiterate. It is, of course, totally inaccurate but, in today’s instant, 24/7 news system, things heard and repeated a hundred times are bound to have lingering impressions.
Agreed, Trump’s style is direct, frank and sometimes not prettily stated, much like another American president. Harry Truman was the only modern day president, and a Democrat to boot, the media painted in negative terms. He too was labeled a mental midget, clueless and one who used foul language. The ever-chattering media said he was a failed haberdasher who really was not capable of even dusting the desk of Franklin Roosevelt.

Don’t understate our president.

Thankfully, history has shown that Truman was so much more and was in fact an effective president; a giant of a man for those years of war and peace. So right now we need to focus on President Trump’s daily accomplishments, which are incredible in numbers and scope, and trust the good sense of history to chronicle a strong president’s legacy.
I believe our greatgrandchildren will be reading that President Trump was first and foremost a tower of a man who stepped forward and offered himself and his abilities to Americans in their time of need. Donald Trump, the man, will be remembered as a president who believed in America and was resolute in his pursuit of bringing our country back to greatness.
Final thought: The landscape is littered with those who underestimated Trump; 16 of them fell off the Republican Primary stage with a dull thud and most history will simply note as “also ran.”
