Thanks to Fountain View Village for the Hero’s Brunch almost three weeks ago. It was a great meal and so nice to see first responders and veterans recognized and appreciated.
Also, the elections are upon us. Mail-in ballots have been received for those on the PEVL. There is no need to send back immediately. The actual election is not until Aug. 28. Study the candidates and vote carefully; the future of our town, state and federal governments is determined by who we elect.
For those registered Republicans who live in the Golden Eagle voting precinct, I would greatly appreciated it if you include my wife, Marie, and myself among those you vote for precinct committeemen. We are both good, strong conservatives.

It was great to see so many people so interested in the town elections that they came out to hear the Chamber/FHCCA council and mayor forums last month. To those who did not, I hope you watch it online. I also appreciate the Q&A’s The Times has had each week for the council and mayoral candidates, but wish they would continue until the last edition before the actual Election Day. I also wish there were more opportunities for us citizens to learn more about the candidates and their views.
I have listened to town candidates and looked at their websites and I will be voting for Cecil Yates for mayor; also for Mike Scharnow and David Spelich for town council.
For other offices on the Republican ticket, I recommend voting for Ken Bennett for governor, Michele Reagan for secretary of state, Martha McSally for U.S. Senate, David Schweikert for U.S. House of Representatives, John Kavanagh and Jay Lawrence for State Representative and Tim Jefferies for State Senate.
