“...there’s a story about God and the devil walking down the street. God bends down and picks something up. It glows in his hand. The devil asks what it is. God says, ‘This is truth.’ The devil says, ‘Let me have that. I’ll organize it for you.’” (From Sy Safransky in The Sun).
Pastor Tony Pierce has some notions about what is true, but his organization of biblically sourced truth is suspect.
The Bible has a very limited number of places where it has negative things to say about homosexuality, but does not suggest we should organize truth around those few references.

The Bible states with greater frequency and poignant power gracious words of inclusion and welcome for the stranger, the one who is different from the way I am, the way we are. This truth is the real organizing motif of the Bible. And Jesus said not a word on the subject of homosexuality.
The truth that “glows” around this whole conversation really started to glow for me during an interview years ago. My task was to interview a seminary student, in preparation for possible assignment as a pastor. He was, and still is, gay... a wonderful person with the most astute theological and biblical mind I had ever been privileged to interview. He said, simply, “I was created this way.”
If repentance means to turn and go in a different direction, I would find it crazy to be told I must repent of being heterosexual. It is blatantly absurd to suggest to my gay and lesbian friends that they must repent and go in a new direction. We all were and are created the way we are, including our sexual orientation, in the very image of God. This is truth that glows!
