Town renews FVV meals agreement
Posted
The Town Council has renewed the town’s contract with Fountain View Village to prepare and provide meals for the Home Delivered Meals program in Fountain Hills.
The new contract covers fiscal year 2013 through 2016 in an amount not to exceed $422,081 total.
Home Delivered Meals provides a daily hot meal for elderly or infirmed residents unable to get out. The meals are delivered by volunteers.
This is the only program in town that provides a meal service to the homebound.
Fountain View Village has been preparing the meals for the program for the past 10 years.
There will be no meal cost increase for the coming fiscal year. It will remain at $6.36. The agreement calls for increases of 3 percent in each subsequent year.
Home Delivered Meals served approximately 45 clients this past fiscal year with 200 volunteers delivering more than 8,400 meals.
