Town offers summer sports

The Town of Fountain Hills Community Services Department continues to provide opportunities for residents to get out and get active with programs offered in the coming weeks.

Soccer

This skills training workshop will engage kids in the world of soccer by presenting dribbling, kicking, throw-ins, headers, goalie skills and more. Parents are encouraged to bring a soccer ball with the child’s name on it and water.

Soccer classes will be held on Tuesdays through June 23 in two sessions. The 2.5 to 4.5-year-old class is from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. and will cost $50 per student. The 18 months to two years class will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. and cost $40 per student.

Jr. golf

Junior golf clinics return this summer to SunRidge Canyon, where students will learn the rules, skills and techniques of the game.

The staff at SunRidge aims to help students achieve their goals, develop their passion and have fun. Registration deadline is the Thursday before each session, and clubs will be available during the clinics.

Courses will be held Thursdays and Fridays from June 18-26. Classes are open to golfers five to 13 and will run from 7 to 8 a.m. Cost is $55.

Basketball

The Advantage Basketball program, focused on ball handling and shooting, will offer three- and five-day clinics.

The three-day clinic is from July 13-15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $195. The five-day camp runs from July 13-17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a cost of $265.
