The Town of Fountain Hills’ Code Enforcement Division is asking homeowners to take a proactive approach to controlling weed growth on their property including residential, commercial and multi-family.
Starting Monday, May 6, properties with significant weed overgrowth may be issued corrective notices. The corrective notice will have a date by which compliance with the order must be met to avoid receiving a citation. The citations may result in a fine of up to $750.
Code Enforcement officers will work with the property owner and those who may have filed a complaint in a confidential, friendly, and understanding way. The officer will notify the property owner or tenant of the violation and will help them find a solution. The property owner or tenant will be given a reasonable amount of time to correct the violation(s). While most property owners or tenants comply after the first notification, those who do not will receive additional notices.
Town staff welcomes questions regarding code enforcement matters or issues. Town residents or business owners can report concerns by calling 480-816-5193 or using the Fountain Hills Connect citizen portal. To download this application, go to fountainhillsaz.gov/Fountain-Hills-Connect. The Code Enforcement staff may be contacted in person at Town Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Thursday.
