Town Council meets Thursday

When the Town Council meets on Thursday this week they will discuss proposed changes to the town’s sponsorship and naming rights policy as related to special event fee waivers.
Also, the council will take time to recognize Councilwoman Cassie Hansen for her service to the Town of Fountain Hills. Hansen is retiring after two four-year terms on the council. She was also the town’s original town clerk, a position she held for 13 years.
The council will also consider updated financial policies.
Economic Development Director Scott Cooper will provide an economic update to the council.
The consent agenda, which is acted on without discussion, includes an amendment to the intergovernmental agreement with Maricopa County relating to air quality monitoring equipment at Fire Station #1.
There is also a proposed five-year extension to an agreement with the county related to maintenance and management of assets shared between McDowell Mountain Regional Park and the Fountain Hills McDowell Mountain Preserve.
Council will consider an extension of one year on its agreement with Artistic Land Management for wash and dam maintenance. The cost on that proposal is $157,000.
The Town Council will meet Thursday, Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
