The Town Council makes it difficult or even impossible to speak at a regular Town Council meeting.
I have been to three such meetings in an effort to speak and have not been able to. I have not been able to speak because the council is busy with introductions, acceptance speeches, giving each other awards, etc.
It takes nearly two hours before the public can be heard. The public should not have to wait two or more hours to be heard, all the while the council entertains itself with this frivolous activity.

I would like to recommend that the Town Council do two things:
One: allow the public to speak first, without forcing the public to sit through all the celebratory fluff.
Two: The Town Council sits on an elevated stage so that they look down upon anyone wishing to speak. This body language intimidates most people. The Town Council should remove themselves from their thrones -- sitting above everyone as if they are superior.
The Town Council members should be sitting at ground level; eye ball to eye ball; listening to the constituency that voted them into office.
These are two changes that would make the Town Council “user friendly” and a compliment to its constituency.
I would like to see these two changes take place and perhaps see some honest communication between the council members and those of us who wish to speak without delay.
