The VisionFH community survey recently asked Fountain Hills residents for their thoughts about the future of our town. The Town Council will be intimately involved in the development and implementation of those ideas. Several candidates are vying for a place on the Town Council.

In addition to Mayor Linda Kavanagh running for re-election, five people have submitted the required documents to be included on the ballot. They are current Council Members Cecil Yates and Dennis Brown, along with challengers Tim Rawlings, Art Tolis, and Mike Archambault.

Over the next few months, we have the opportunity and the obligation to seek information about these candidates, determine their positions on the issues, their qualifications for office, and make a decision on who among them deserve our support.

Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party will provide such an opportunity with a Town Council Forum to be held on Tuesday, June 21, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Candidates attending the forum will explain their reason for running. They will also be answering questions from the audience in order to help us assess their views and qualifications.

Confirmed attendees include: Council Members Cecil Yates and Dennis Brown, Tim Rawlings and Art Tolis. The Forum will be at the FHUSD Learning Center (Palisades and Golden Eagle Blvds.). All are welcome to participate.

Admission is free, but donations to cover expenses are gratefully accepted. Come, listen, learn, ask and bring a friend. We hope to see you there! For more info, visit fhteaparty.org.
