Town of Fountain Hills Fire Department has transitioned its chain of command, marking a new chapter in its ongoing efforts for public safety and smooth operations.
Town Fire Chief Dave Ott announced the promotions of three fire captains in the department to the position of battalion chief in December. Effective Jan. 1, Bryan Golden, Mike Grieco and Brad Linden were promoted. All three were sworn in on Monday, Jan. 12, according to a press release.
As battalion chief, the three fire personnel will oversee risky operations at both fire stations and provide on-scene command and leadership during emergencies.
The new command structure also plays a key role in supporting the Town’s application for Automatic Aid, a regional agreement that allows neighboring fire departments to automatically assist one another when they are the closest and most appropriate resource to an incident, regardless of jurisdictional boundaries, according to a press release.
“These Battalion Chief positions are essential to the modern fire service,” said Fire Chief Dave Ott in the release. “They provide critical oversight, coordination, and leadership, ensuring our crews have the support they need and our community receives the highest level of service.”
All three have long-standing relationships and service with the Fountain Hills Fire Department and were chosen based on outstanding qualifications and leadership.
