The Aug. 28 election is approaching and we are faced with several choices. In the race for town council, we can choose three candidates who offer a fresh look at the challenges facing the town. We can choose three candidates with specific expertise in finance and budget, government accounting and law enforcement. We can choose three candidates who opposed the property tax before it was “cool” to oppose it. We can choose three candidates who value transparency and government accountability.
We can choose three candidates who understand the need to listen to the residents of Fountain Hills. Those candidates are Gerry Friedel, David Spelich and Marcus Bulow von Dennewitz. I know them, I trust them, I support them, I believe that they are worthy of your vote, and I urge you to join me in supporting them for town council. We have another choice in the race for governor of Arizona. Former Arizona State Senator and former Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett is vying for the Republican nomination for governor. For a great, local opportunity to hear from Ken, listen to his reasons for running and his ideas about the direction of state government, and to ask your questions, please attend a meeting of Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party today, Wednesday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the FHUSD Learning Center at the northeast corner of Palisades and Golden Eagle Boulevards. Admission is free. All interested parties are welcome.
