Congratulations to all the newly elected members of the Fountain Hills and Lower Verde Valley Hall of Fame who will be inducted next month.

But special congratulations to School Board member Dr. C.T. Wright, who had a tremendous week garnering not only recognition of his outstanding leadership service here in Fountain Hills, but also at the state level where the Arizona Republican Party recognized him by awarding him the Barry Goldwater Award, the top award for volunteer leadership and participation in the Arizona Republican Party.

At the same event, as the President of and on behalf of the Fountain Hills Republic Club (FHRC), he accepted the award for the Best Republican Club in Arizona.

Among the many achievements left off his biography in last week’s paper were that in 2014, the FHRC recognized Dr. Wright as the club’s Republican of the Year and, in 2013, Dr. Wright was one of the 11 Electors from Arizona to go to the Electoral College and thus one of the only 11 people in AZ who actually cast a vote for President.

A humble man recognized internationally for his achievements prior to moving to Fountain Hills, he would not tell you any of this unless specifically asked. What a gem of a man we have in Dr. C.T. Wright. He can be anyone’s role model.

We should all be thankful he lives in Fountain Hills and brings favorable recognition to our community.

Once again, congratulations and thanks for your service to all the newly elected members of the Lower Verde Valley Hall of Fame.
