The undisclosed cost of ‘free stuff’

OPINION — The cost of socialism won’t be discussed by political activists because they know if they did, the truth would tarnish the aura of their promises for “free stuff.”

It’s a foolish notion to believe: free healthcare, free childcare, free education, free housing, free transportation without adding more inflation on taxpayers. Taxpayers already suffer with too much national, state and local debt. The undisclosed price tag for free stuff would increase the affordability gap.

What socialists should probably believe is that the promise of free stuff will never be delivered. If food, goods and services remain unaffordable, inflation may become intolerable, potentially fueling a socialist insurrection.
