The role of our community newspaper in Fountain Hills

I am a long-time subscriber to the Fountain Hills Times. For such a small town, there is a lot of news! I appreciate the weekly updates about the businesses, special events, schools, clubs, civic groups and local government. It is information I can’t get from any other source.

The recent complaints of “negative reporting” came as a surprise to me. The paper did change ownership, but the reporting remains the same. I often attend special events, club meetings and most of the town council meetings. I have found that the reporting on these events is accurate, not negative.

Honestly, I think our local paper is exceptionally positive, presenting this community as a great place to live! Of course, the occasional crime will get covered, or a troubling situation which the residents might want to know about, but always in a professional manner, not sensationalized in a negative way.
