The River of Time is a valuable asset to Fountain Hills

OPINION — The River of Time Museum and Exploration Center provides a great service to the Fountain Hills and greater Phoenix metropolitan area. It should be a source of pride to full-time residents and winter visitors alike that the town has a museum that tells some of the history of Fountain Hills and the Lower Verde Valley.

A number of notable town leaders/founders were instrumental in its founding, including Allen Cruikshank, Judy Confer, Jerry and Jackie Miles, Robert Thompson, (former Yavapai Nation President) Clinton Pattea, and others. To close the museum, or any significant portions of it, would be doing them a disservice.

Through group tours, the museum teaches school children about the history and culture of the region and also about our vital source of water and the role it plays in modern society and in the societies of the past, both ancient  and more recent.
