The Fountains UMC invites the community to its annual World Labyrinth Day event Saturday, May 3, from 8 to 9 a.m.
This year’s theme is world peace. Attendees will join thousands of people walking labyrinths around the globe to celebrate each other during a labyrinth walk and meditation.
The event begins at 8 a.m. with a coffee and a short presentation. Then, walking will commence at The Fountains’ outdoor Labyrinth. For those who are not able to walk, finger labyrinths and virtual walks will be available inside the church.
World Labyrinth Day is an annual international event sponsored by The Labyrinth Society.
According to a press release, thousands of people around the world participate in this moving meditation for world peace and celebration of the labyrinth experience every year on the first Saturday in May.
The Labyrinth Society is a U.S.-based international nonprofit organization founded in 1998 whose mission is to support all those who create, maintain and use labyrinths and to serve the global community by providing education, networking and opportunities to experience transformation.
