The country must stand up to Trump

OPINION - “We the people” gathered 7 million strong for the “No Kings” protests across our country. We chanted “This is what Democracy looks like!” as we peacefully protested and used our First Amendment right to free speech, protected speech.

I personally attended in Scottsdale and in Fountain Hills, both were peaceful and downright joyful because we knew what we were doing was right for our country. The only opposition I saw was the middle finger from a few pickup trucks.

Why did this happen, one of the largest protests in American history? Well, as we have all recently seen in the news photos of the White House, the People's House, crumbling under the wrecking ball, I couldn’t help but think it was an apt metaphor for what Donald Trump is doing to our America the Beautiful. He has brought us to our knees, in our standing in the world.
