Bob’s Free Bikes would like to express our gratitude to Harry and Diane, owners of McDowell Mountain Cycles (MMC) for hosting the fourth annual Gran Fondo.
For the past four years they have sponsored this event with the proceeds going to support the mission of Bob’s: giving a free bike to any child who cannot attain one. This year an anonymous benefactor pledged to match donations up to $3,000. With community support we met that goal for a total of $6000. Our special thanks are also extended to Jaime Brown, MMC staff and all the volunteers for coordinating the ride.
Over the past year Bob’s Free Bikes distributed 1,259 bikes into welcoming hands throughout Maricopa County. Our Founder, Bob Mandel, started giving away free bikes in 2017, working out of his garage. In the past seven years we have given away over 6,500 bikes. We also would like to acknowledge our community, Fountain Hills; without the support of our friends and neighbors we would not be able to meet these milestones.
