Wow, what a treat! The Fountain Hills Theater has done it again. Their production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is truly outstanding. This musical brings the Old Testament story of Joseph to life with rollicking songs and splashy costumes.
However, the real standout is Nick Hambruch as Joseph. Starting with “Any dream will do,” Nick’s performance was outstanding. But, it is not the only one. The Narrators, Kathleen Berger, Amy Powers, Jennifer Whiting and Janine Smith, are four of the finest voices to adorn this or any stage. Alex Gonzalez as the Pharaoh channeled his inner Elvis and delighted the crowd. The cast had us clapping along from the very first song.
It is always nice to see so many of our talented young people singing and dancing as they spilled off the stage into the audience. I highly recommend that you take in this musical theater classic, performing the next two weekends. It is truly a technicolor dream.
