Our nation’s founders believed that proper functioning of government requires knowledge among the people and active citizen participation. This remains just as true and important today as it was hundreds of years ago.
Many would agree that obtaining objective, unbiased information about current events is getting harder. Technology makes access to information easier, but it also facilitates the spread of inaccuracies and can make opinion sound convincingly like fact. The concept of “fake news” has become an issue in itself.

Traditional news journalists were likely taught that it’s best to find the original source. Since October 2010, Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party has continued to provide you with convenient local access to elected officials and other authorities on important current issues, policies and government that are the original sources.
Remember, Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party now meets on the third Thursday of the month. On Thursday, Sept. 21, we welcome our Arizona Secretary of State, Michele Reagan, and our Maricopa County Attorney, Bill Montgomery. We will be discussing elections, voting and law enforcement in Maricopa County.
The meeting will be held at Fountain Hills Unified School District Learning Center, at the corner of Golden Eagle and Palisades, starting at 6:30 p.m. As always, we welcome all interested parties to attend the meeting and participate. Admission is still free, but donations to cover expenses are gratefully accepted and appreciated. Come, listen, learn, ask, bring a friend. We hope to see you there!
