Construction of the International Dark Sky Discovery Center in Fountain Hills is reaching for the sky both figuratively and literally.
Steel and wooden beams are being placed to support the roof of the structure being built in the downtown civic center.
The Discovery Center project is largely being funded by private donations and donors were recently invited to come to the construction site and place their signature on a wooden beam to be placed on the building. More than 100 showed up during the two-day window set aside for signatures.
