Politics is definitely a dirty business and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better as the right and the left grow further apart each day.

In reading the letters of the last week, it was mentioned several times about how horrible the local politics have become, especially since they’re non-partisan. But the truth of the matter is that they become dirtier as the balance of the left and the right become center stage.

I remember when we first moved here 23 years ago, there wasn’t even a Democrat Club, and the Republican Club was in full swing. As more and more people moved into our town, we have a very diverse political population, hence the reason why we now have the politics of our nonpartisan election becoming uglier with each term.

As a resident of this town, I was completely against the property tax. Thankfully, we won and the property tax was not implemented, so when looking for new town council candidates, I was looking for people who were also against the tax. Of the six people running for town council, there were only three who did not support the primary property tax, and those three have won my vote!

They are Gerry Friedel, Marcus Bullo von Dennewitz and David Spelich.

Please join me by casting your vote for these three gentlemen who bring fresh faces to the town council as well as decades of financial experience to help our town with its budget and its spending.

Two-thirds of the town voted against that primary property tax, I hope that two-thirds of the town will vote with me for these three candidates! (listeningtoyou.us) God bless our town.
