Superintendent Jagodzinski reflects on Fountain Hills election results

Working to change perception

Fountain Hills Unified School District (FHUSD) Superintendent Dr. Cain Jagodzinski spoke about this year’s local school-related elections Monday, Nov. 13, after he believed the outcome had been decided.

At the time of writing, the results show residents rejecting a bond initiative and approving a measure to authorize the district to sell, lease or exchange the former Four Peaks Elementary School property.

The town of Fountain Hills rejected a $20 million bond and a District Additional Assistance override last year. The Four Peaks property was draining district funds, and Jagodzinski heard feedback from some residents saying they’d also like to see the district do something with the old McDowell Mountain Elementary School, which is now Little Falcons Preschool.
