“This is the time of the year that we pause, maybe a little longer than usual, to reflect on the sacrifice made by Jesus for our salvation,” says Pastor Tony Pierce of the First Baptist Church of Fountain Hills.
As such, on Sunday, April 20, the Fountain Hills Evangelical Association (Calvary Chapel Fountain Hills, First Baptist Church of Fountain Hills and North Chapel Community Bible Church) will hold its second annual Sunrise Service.
This year participants will meet at the First Baptist Church, 10215 N. Saguaro Blvd., at 6 a.m. for worship in song and word brought by Pastor Rick Ponzo of Calvary Chapel, followed by a free pancake breakfast.

“We can’t even fathom why He was willing to face the cross and all the suffering so that we could be right with God,” Pierce said of his earlier reference to Jesus.
“He suffered, He bled and He died, so that we could know forgiveness and have eternal life. And all we have to do is accept this gift. Hallelujah, what a Savior!
“Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, is the day we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
In addition to the Sunrise service, First Baptist Church of Fountain Hills invites residents to join it during its Sunday school hour at 9 a.m.
The Sunday school is for all ages, from babies to senior adults.
Between Sunday school and worship, the church will serve a continental breakfast in the courtyard at 10 a.m.
The morning worship service begins at 10:30 a.m., with special music by the FBCFH Worship Choir and a message brought by Pierce.
