Summer performing arts camps planned

Fountain Hills Theater to host four camps

Fountain Hills Youth Theater is offering a full summer of full-day and half-day performing arts camps.

For ages seven and up, there will be two three-week, full-day, musical theater camps, culminating in a performance for family, friends and the public.

‘Annie Kids’ Summer Camp

The first camp is set June 3-21 where campers will rehearse and then perform in the musical, “Annie Kids.”

Campers will rehearse and perform a 30-minute adaptation of the popular Tony Award-winning Best Musical based on the popular comic strip.

Performances for family, friends and the public is Friday, June 21 at 2 and 5 p.m.

'Frozen Kids' Summer Camp

The second camp is July 8-26 where campers will present the musical stage adaptation of the animated film, “Frozen.”

Campers will rehearse and perform in this fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the celebrated animated film.

A performance of “Frozen Kids” is held Friday, July 26 at 2 and 5 p.m.

These camps take place Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuition for either “Annie Kids” or “Frozen Kids” is $600.

Princess Tea Party Camp

For children ages four through eight, two Princess Tea Party Camps are offered June 24-28 and July 29 -Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 pm.

A fun-filled morning of acting, singing, dress-up and tea parties, students will work on being thankful and thoughtful, the beauty of sharing, learning “princess manners” and crown and wand decorating. Tuition is $125.

On-Camera Acting Camps

On-Camera Acting classes for ages eight and above are offered June 24-28 and July 29-Aug. 2 from 1 to 4 p.m.

In this camp, students will perform and film actual scripts, learn the difference between stage and film acting and learn the forms of auditioning of on-camera roles and techniques specific to film. Tuition is $175.
