Summer means stormy weather potential

Official monsoon start is June 15

June is here and along with it, the date the National Weather Service has designated as the official start of the monsoon, June 15.

Weather officials say the season should wrap up by the end of September.

It is well known that the monsoon in Arizona can be fickle – years that end up labeled “non-soon” to those with 10 inches or more of rainfall dumped in a few short weeks.
