Fountain Hills High School student Sophia Lishner will host a “Teeter-Totter-A-Thon” this Saturday, April 1, to raise funds and awareness for Type 1 diabetes research.
Lishner, a FHHS student living with Type 1 diabetes, will find herself holding down one end of a teeter totter for 15 hours throughout the day, running from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event is being hosted out of the high school parking lot.
This 15-year-old student will earn donations for her efforts and is on the lookout for additional contributions and participation to help fund the JDRF Desert Southwest Chapter.

Lishner and her supporters are asking friends, neighbors, teachers, teammates and hopefully some “local celebrities” to donate and join her on the teeter-totter for 15-minute or half hour blocks of time during the event.
To participate, simply drop by the high school parking lot this Saturday to join in on the fun. For more information on the organization Lishner is supporting, visit jdrf.org.
