Motorists in Fountain Hills will find some new traffic restrictions on some of the main boulevards beginning Monday, July 8.
The town begins its annual maintenance projects for Zone 7, which includes the major arterial streets, according to Community Development Director Paul Mood.
Starting July 8, Nesbitt Contracting will be working on Palisades Boulevard between Lost Hills and Sunridge Drive.
This work will entail milling the asphalt around a number of major cracks in the pavement and replacing the asphalt, Mood said.
This work is expected to take about a week, and then beginning on Monday, July 15, a major mill and overlay project will begin on Shea Boulevard.
Crews will be milling the asphalt and replacing it in the westbound lanes between Palisades Boulevard and the Scottsdale city limit.
On the eastbound side the mill and overlay will be done between the Scottsdale boundary and Fountain Hills Boulevard.
The town will also be doing mill and overlay patch work on Fountain Hills Boulevard north of Palisades Boulevard.
All of this construction will take place during daytime hours so motorists need to pay close attention to traffic restrictions.
The maintenance work will be completed in the fall with a microsurface application on Palisades and Fountain Hills boulevards in October, according to Mood.
