Storm soaks Fountain Hills

More than an inch falls in town

The winter storm that passed through Arizona just before Christmas soaked the town with more than an inch of rain over three days.

The Maricopa County Flood Control District has nine ALERT sites in Fountain Hills to monitor rainfall to warn of potential flash flooding in the washes. The most rain fell at the rain gauge at the Cloudburst site very near the Adero Canyon Trailhead. That site collected 1.17 inches over the rainy period.

At the Fountain Hills Fire Department Station #1 on Palisades Boulevard at Avenue of the Fountains the rain gauge received .98-inch.
