A strong fast moving storm moved through Fountain Hills Monday afternoon dumping about half an inch of rain and uprooting dozens of trees around the community.
One tree fell on a car in a parking lot near Saguaro and Kingstree boulevards. Others were reported down near the Fountain Hills Theater at Saguaro and Rand as well as El Lago Boulevard and the Avenue of the Fountains.
Saguaro Boulevard was closed for a time between Palisades Boulevard and Avenue of the Fountains due to flooding, as well as McDowell Mountain Road at the wash east of the Middle School.
