Hot on the heels of a couple major auto shows, the Great Fair and the Memorial Disc Golf Tournament comes this weekend’s massive kite festival in Fountain Park, Basant Mela. While the wind didn’t cooperate too well last year, forecasts are looking good for this Saturday, March 10, when event is set to take place.
For local youngsters, that should serve as a nice kick-off event for spring break, set to run from March 12-16. During that time, all sites within the Fountain Hills Unified School District and Fountain Hills Charter School will be out of session. We encourage local students to get out and have some fun next week in order to recharge their batteries for a strong finish to the 2017-18 academic year. Hard to believe, but graduation is only a few months out at this point, which means end-of-the-school-year activities are about to ramp up, too.
But the kids shouldn’t get to keep all of the fun to themselves. We’re entering that perfect window in Fountain Hills to get out and enjoy a hike, bike ride, a round of golf or afternoon drinks on the patio of a favorite restaurant. The triple-digit temperatures will be here before you know it, so be sure to make the best of the spring weather while it lasts.
