Spooner & Shaft Physical Therapy has hired two new employees, Allison Connolly and Monte Morris.

Connolly is the new licensed athletic trainer. She moved to Arizona after graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training,

After working as a clinical athletic trainer, she said she wanted to expand her knowledge of orthopedic and sports-related rehabilitation.

She attended Northern Arizona University where she earned her doctorate of physical therapy.

While in physical therapy school, she modeled her treatment philosophy around a quote by Abraham Maslow: “When all you carry is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”

Connolly said she has added more “tools” so that she may provide treatment tailored to each patient’s specific needs.

When not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors, visiting museums, traveling and attending live music events.

Monte Morris is an occupational therapist specializing in hand therapy.

She earned her undergraduate degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University and a master’s of occupational therapy from the Louisiana State University Health Science Center. New Orleans.

She joined the Spooner team in January after three years of experience in outpatient orthopedics at a level 1 trauma center in New Orleans.

She is pursuing a certification in hand therapy later this year.

She said she enjoys working with patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions to improve function and overall health.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, yoga, traveling, golf and tennis.

The office of Spooner & Shaft Physical Therapy is located at 16838 E. Palisades Blvd., B-121.
