Spending

Instead of cutting wasteful spending, why is it that the social engineers on the town council only talk about how they need more money to spend on their various projects?

The recent propaganda mailing to the citizens, sent under the Orwellian name of an “Informational Pamphlet,” made no mention of the $40,000 consulting fee to evaluate the council’s lagoon project debacle. It made no mention of the $90,000 that the council wants to spend on wayfinding signs.

It made no mention of the taxpayer money that will be used to maintain and insure the sculpture that they are arguing among themselves as to where to place in the town. It made no mention of all of the taxpayer money being used for the council’s vision for the arts. It made no mention of the $2 million spent on a trailhead in Adero Canyon and it made no mention of the additional money that will be needed for this trailhead. I could go on and on.

The bottom line is that we don’t have a revenue problem in Fountain Hills; instead we have a spending problem. Vote no on the proposed property tax increase.
