For 23 years, the Fountain Hills Soccer Club has provided a unique brand of recreational soccer in Fountain Hills.
“The goal of our club is to let the kids discover a great sport, make friends and have a lot of fun,” said FHSC Director and trainer Mark Lincir, who has been with the club for 20 years. “Everything we do is geared around having a good time with soccer.”
With a new season on the horizon, Lincir said FHSC is looking to recruit new players looking to have some fun, with lessons planned for all skill levels and teams/matches for those who want to be more competitive.
The soccer club has clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Lincir and additional trainers, but older participants may have additional practices throughout the week. Games are held Friday nights.
“[Game nights] are an exciting time,” Lincir added. “The whole town gets a chance to mingle with families and make new friends.”
Lincir said the soccer club is looking to add some fun new events and food options during game nights.
“We are kicking off another year of soccer starting with assessment day on Aug. 20,” he added.
During the event, players ages four to seven are invited to take part beginning at 8 a.m., with ages eight and over beginning at 9 a.m.
Clinics will begin Aug. 30
Tuesday clinics will be for two age groups. Children four and five years of age will play from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Children eight and nine years of age will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Thursday clinics are for the older kids. The 6-7 group will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the 10-13 group playing from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Games will begin on Sept. 30 and end Nov. 18. Opening day activities and pictures will be held Oct. 1. This event will include food, games for the kids, pictures and an introduction of all of the teams.
“We are still looking for additional sponsors for this year’s season,” Lincir continued.
