Scottsdale Artists’ School, a leader in fine art training for artists of all levels, has hired Sherry Sklar as its new executive director.

She is a Fountain Hills resident.

Sklar brings years of experience, passion for the arts and fresh ideas to the Scottsdale Artists’ School, officials said.

“Sherry is the right fit at the right time for the Scottsdale Artists’ School,” said Chris Gooch, president of the Board of Trustees.

“As the school celebrates its 30th anniversary, we are excited to have an executive director with the rare combination of art and business background to ensure the organization’s next 30 years are equally successful as its first 30.”

An active member of the Phoenix arts community, Sklar served as president and board member of Arizona Costume Institute, an organization for the fashion design collection at Phoenix Art Museum.
