The zany "Spamalot" just concluded Sunday, but more fun remains for the summer at Fountain Hills Theater.

The Fountain Hills Theater presents several musicals this summer, with plenty of fun for the whole family.
“Spamalot” just concluded its summer run, but three more productions remain:
On the Air
Next on Mainstage Too, FHT presents a special engagement from Act Two Productions, “On the Air.”
Remember the fabulous ‘50s and ‘60s? Those were the days of malt shops, sock hops and rock ‘n’ roll.
Presented as a “live broadcast” over fictional oldies station KDOG (“the nifty 950”), this unique production captures the wonderful music and memories of that unforgettable era.
The show features T.A. Burrows, Laurie Ehlers and Kim Cooper-Schmidt as the playful DJs who host the station’s fun-filled festivities, performing 22 popular rock ‘n’ roll tunes, including chart toppers by such artists as The Drifters, The Platters, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Darin, Connie Francis, Elvis and more.
And between the songs, they entertain their “listeners” with amusing banter and hilarious comedy routines including a reprise of Abbott & Costello’s legendary “Who’s On First?”
“On the Air” will play July 12-21, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets $20 for adults, $15 for youths 17 and under.
Annie
Then, back again on the Mainstage, everyone’s favorite spunky, red-headed orphan, “Annie!”
The depression-era orphan is determined to find her parents who left her on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the bitter Miss Hannigan.
In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil plans, befriends President Franklin Roosevelt and finds a new family and home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his secretary Grace and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
It plays July 19 to Aug. 4; Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $12 for youths 17 and under. Produced through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
Into the Woods Jr.
Finally, on the Youth Stage, a special presentation by CounterPoint Theater of “Into the Woods, Jr.” from July 26 through Aug. 4, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2.
This fun-filled musical combines several classic Brothers Grimm fairytales into an original story about a baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family.
Award-winning Valley director Jere Van Patten describes the show as “a fun take on the stories we all grew up with that audiences of all ages will relate to and enjoy. Like when Cinderella’s mother asks, ‘Are you certain what you wish for is what you want?’”
Come find out as CounterPoint Theater presents “Into the Woods Jr.” Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $15 for youths 17 and under.
Call the FHT Box Office, open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 837-9661, ext. 3, for tickets and information or visit www.fhtaz.org.
