Ken and Gwenn Sigsworth recently celebrated their 54th anniversary in Lijue, Kauai, Hawaii, which they said was beautiful.
Roxanne and Hank at AZ Trails and Travel were once again asked to find a perfect vacation spot for the duo, and they recommended the Marriott Resort on Kalapaki Beach.
Ken and Gwenn enjoyed the beautiful ocean-view room looking out at the Kalapaki beach with huge waves, unreal scenery and adventures. The resort also had many lush gardens, waterfalls, walking paths, gorgeous flowers, koi ponds and birds.
Located in the open air lobby filled with orchid gardens was an ancient restored Koa canoe made for a princess, raised and situated so every aspect of it could be seen. It is believed to have been made between 1860 and 1890. The lobby also had many ancient tools and pictures in cases filled with Kauai history.
Ken and Gwenn said the weather forecast system at the beach was “entertaining,” as it was a coconut hanging on a rope. If the coconut was wet, it was raining. If it was swaying, it was windy. If the coconut was gone, hurricane.
Roxanne and Hank also set up a day tour for Ken and Gwenn of the Waimea Canyon, which is 10 miles long and 4,000 feet deep.
The couple said the coloring was a palate of every color imaginable with lush vegetation. On the way to the canyon, the duo visited Spouting Horn, which was shooting water eight or more feet in the air through a lava plate, sounded like a dragon roaring and looked like the Fountain Hills Fountain on a beach.
Ken and Gwenn also toured the area of Wailua Waterfalls, which was dropping down over 150 feet. The scenery, flowers and birds were breathtaking.
Brad, Renee and Sophia Ferguson secretly went to Hank and Roxanne to set up a surprise anniversary sunset dinner cruise along the Na Pali Coast for Ken and Gwenn. The happy couple said it was a picture perfect event and one they will never forget, thanking all involved for making it so special.
