Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church’s Ladies in Fellowship (LIFT) gathered Saturday, Nov. 9, to celebrate its Fall Welcome Back Event.

The event theme was “Serving God Where You Are.”

Linda Marchi, LIFT president and keynote speaker, presented the example of nine influential Biblical women. These women made a difference in the lives of others around them with their faithfulness and active service, according to a press release.

Marchi emphasized the importance of each person serving the congregation of which they are a part each day. She shared a quote “God gave you a fingerprint that no one else has, so you can leave an imprint that no one else can.”

Guests enjoyed a buffet lunch of homemade soups, salads and desserts.

Jo Jones and Lyndsey Steele were guest speakers from Jacob’s Hope organization in Mesa (jacobshopeaz.org).

The facility provides support to expectant mothers on the path to recovery and also 24-hour care to their substance-exposed newborns between the hospital and home.

Jones said, “By caring for the mothers and these babies, we embrace them with support and give hope for the restoration of the family.”

LIFT meets monthly for fellowship and to provide outreach in the church and the community through faith, fellowship and fun.
