Shepherd of the Hills plans fall break adventures
Posted
Shepherd of the Hills will host Fall Break Adventures for youngsters ages 3 through fifth grade during the school’s recess, Oct. 8-13.
Participants will learn about Moses and the 10 Commandments from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday.
Youths in grades 6 through 12 are welcome to be helpers.
The cost is free. Each day, the children will be involved in activities, games, crafts, sports and the chance to learn to play the chimes.
Chime choir
The church is forming a hand chime choir for all children. The first session will be at 4:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, as part of the WOW program.
A chime choir requires youngsters to work together to play one instrument. Susan George will lead the choir.
If a child can count to eight and wants to be part of this fun team, they are welcome.
The Daniel Plan
A six-part video-based small group study from Pastor Rick Warren, author of “Purpose Driven Life”; Dr. Daniel Amen and Dr. Mark Hyman, will begin at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Fellowship Hall.
The Daniel Plan is a lifestyle change that centers on five essentials to health: faith, food, fitness, focus and friends.
Organizers said the plan works on the simple reason that God designed the body to be healthy and he provided everything needed to thrive and live an abundant life.
Class materials are $25; scholarships are available.
To register for these programs or obtain additional information, send an email to julia@sothaz.com or call the office at 480-837-9532.
Shepherd of the Hills is located at the corner of Fountain Hills Blvd. and El Lago.
