Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church supports Fountain Hills students

Scholarship opportunity for senior students

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church has announced it will give two, $2,000 scholarships in 2025. These scholarships are available to seniors graduating from Fountain Hills public or home schools who meet specific qualifications. The student must be a graduating high school senior, must be a regular attendee of a Christian church and must have confirmed full-time enrollment in a college, university, vocational or technical school.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church Recording Secretary Donna Hawkinson described how Shepherd of the Hills raised money for the student scholarships. “This is an annual event, and the church has been giving scholarships for over 13 years,” Hawkinson said. “We’ve held a talent show for the last 13 years, and money raised at the pie and cake auction after the talent show has been a big fundraiser for us. Prior to that, we sponsored a golf tournament to raise funds for scholarships.”
