Shepherd of the Hills in Fountain Hills participates in Meals from the Heartland

Community invited to volunteer for fourth annual Arizona Hunger Fight campaign

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Fountain Hills is once again working with Meals from the Heartland.

Volunteers will help pack food for the hungry of Arizona, Feb. 1-3. The meal packing event is held at Midwest Food Bank, 725 E. Baseline Rd. in Gilbert.

The community is invited to sign themselves up online along with friends and family members at mealsfromtheheartland.org/event/arizona-hunger-fight.

Meals from the Heartland fights child hunger by empowering people to feed starving children. It’s goal this year is to package 150,000 meals to be distributed to those in need in the Arizona area.

For those who cannot attend, Meals from the Heartland also welcomes sponsors to benefit the Arizona Hunger Fight.

Business groups interested can email Midwest Food Bank at volunteercoordinator@midwestfoodbank.org.
