Sharon McPherson

Sharon McPherson, 72, passed away April 1, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix surrounded by her loving family and with the prayers of her many friends near and far.

Sharon was born Dec. 14, 1942, and raised in Omaha, Neb., graduated from Notre Dame High School, married her high school sweetheart and raised five boys while working in the religion department at Boys Town.

She and Ed moved to Fountain Hills 15 years ago where she worked at Mayo Health Clinic, volunteered at Fountain Hills Elementary as a tutor and taught adult education programs at the Fountain Hills Branch Library.

She is preceded in death by parents, Neil and Margaret McTaggart, and survived by loving husband of 54 years, Ed McPherson; children, Jamie McPherson, Jeff (Cheri) McPherson, Mark McPherson Todd McPherson and Kyle McPherson; seven grandchildren, Matt, Maddie, Alex, Drew, Zachary, Sidney and Ryan; and sister, Sue Schumacher.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, Fountain Hills.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fountain Hills Mentoring Program – McDowell Mountain Elementary.
