SBC Fountain Hills talks mourning, grief and joy

The Scottsdale Bible Church Fountain Hills Spring 2026 Luncheon saw over 200 women attend a presentation on seasons in women’s life.

The presentation, held on March 7 by the church’s Minister to Women, Dr. Veronica Gatling, put heavy emphasis on the recent death of her 34-year-old daughter from cancer, and how being closer to her faith helped her mourn and find joy again.

“We talked about the seasons of life, about mourning, grinding, marriage, the happy times and also the more challenging seasons and how to have joy,” Gatling said. “I illustrated to them the importance of staying in the community with other women, through reading the Bible, through prayer, and remembering the joyful times and not just the negative. Being grateful and having a heart of deep and abiding gratitude for all that we have and all that we get to experience."
