Sara Karoli wins library award

The Fountain Hills Friends of the Library annually offers $3,000 in scholarships to Fountain Hills High School seniors.

The 2016 qualifying recipient is Sara Koroli, daughter of Etleva and Urim Koroli. Sara is the third student to receive the scholarship.

This annual award was established to encourage and enable local seniors to pursue their dreams. To receive this scholarship the student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, must exhibit a desire to teach through extra-curricular and volunteer activities and continue to pursue a degree in their chosen field at an accredited institution of higher learning.

Sara Karoli wins library award

The Fountain Hills Friends of the Library annually offers $3,000 in scholarships to Fountain Hills High School seniors.

The 2016 qualifying recipient is Sara Koroli, daughter of Etleva and Urim Koroli. Sara is the third student to receive the scholarship.

This annual award was established to encourage and enable local seniors to pursue their dreams. To receive this scholarship the student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, must exhibit a desire to teach through extra-curricular and volunteer activities and continue to pursue a degree in their chosen field at an accredited institution of higher learning.

TheFriends’ scholarship also is renewable for up to four years if the qualifying criteria are met by the student. Recipients of the scholarship are determined by the Golden Eagle Foundation Selection Committee.

Three years ago Sara’s mother encouraged her to become a volunteer at the library. She began by helping with the Summer Reading Program. She soon moved on to the Library Teen Council (both programs funded by the FHFL).Sara is completing her fourth year as student director on the Fountain Hills Friends of the Library Board.

Sara will be attending Barrett Honors College at ASU. Her first goal is to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Microbiology (Bio-medical Science). This will prepare her for application to a medical school. Her dream is to become a doctor and travel to Third World countries to help the poor who do not have access to health care.
