Tony Finocchio, you and I have not met. My name is Michael Maroon and I'm the newest member of the Sanitary District Board. Yes, I was appointed this past July to the board. Have we met before? I don’t think so?

I know as much about you as I knew about Tom, Greg, Bob and Jerry prior to joining the board. Which is why I thought it very strange to see your letter written as if you somehow had inside information about who my friends were.

News flash: I had no previous existing relationships with any board members prior to joining the board. I did have a conversation once with Bob Thomson years prior in relation to a client we had in common, but that was about the extent of it.

Can you please stop spreading this rumor that the Board is an evil and corrupt group of guys looking out for their own self interests? I actually signed the petition in front of Safeway to get you on the ballot because I believe in elections; but even then I was very put off by the lady who wanted my signature telling me about how the board only elects their own. My jaw dropped when she said, “And let’s stop them from raising taxes!” It was in poor taste.

Listen, the Sanitary District simply gets the feces and urine and contaminants out of the water so it can be repurposed again. I’m sorry that it costs money to do that, but she made it sound like there was some other sinister act going on here. There’s not. So move on.

I personally don’t care who I serve on this Board with as long as they keep the town’s interest at heart. Just keep it classy, please.
