The River of Time Museum & Exploration Center is once again offering its popular guided tours giving visitors the opportunity to experience the region’s rich art, culture and history.

Milestone Tours, named in honor of former Mayor Jerry Miles and his wife Jackie Miles, celebrate the couple’s instrumental role in establishing Fountain Hills Public Art.

The tour highlights the internationally recognized art installations located in Centennial Park just outside the River of Time.

Featuring more than 150 pieces, the guided walking tour introduces participants to the artists, production techniques and stories behind some of the most notable works in the collection.

Each 60- to 90-minute tour begins with a meet-and-greet in the River of Time lobby and includes a short film about the Lower Verde River Valley, a guided sculpture walk through Centennial Park and a return visit to the museum. Tours are offered October through April on the second Wednesday and last Saturday of each month at 10 a.m.

The cost is $20 for non-members and $15 for members.

The museum also partners with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation for its Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Cultural Tours which return for their seventh season Thursday, Nov. 6.

Led by Clissene Lewis, director of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Cultural Center and Museum, the tour immerses guests in the Yavapai people’s traditions and stories through visits to key cultural and historical sites.

Participants begin the day at WeKoPa Casino at 8 a.m. with breakfast pastries and coffee then travel to stops including the FMYN Cultural Center, the ‘Hmañ ‘Shawa Early Development Center, the historic Bingo Hall and Rosa’s Ranch, home to the story of the Orme Dam.

The tour concludes with a buffet lunch at Ahnala restaurant in the WeKoPa Resort Casino.

Tickets are $135 for members and $145 for non-members and include breakfast pastries and lunch. Space is limited and tours often sell out in advance. Tickets are not sold at WeKoPa.

Reservations can be made online at riveroftime.center/tours, in-person at the River of Time Museum & Exploration Center or by phone at 480-837-2612.

The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through April 2, 2026. Pre-registration is required.
