Rise in electric bike, scooter use has attention of Fountain Hills law enforcement

Sheriff’s Office outlines concerns, tips for riders

Several months ago, two youths were injured when the electric bike they were riding collided with a vehicle at an intersection along Saguaro Boulevard in Fountain Hills.

Fortunately, this type of collision has been rare in town, although other cities across the Valley have had to deal with similar situations.

According to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Capt. Kevin Thomas, commander for the MCSO District 7 based in Fountain Hills, deputies do hear complaints about riders.
